I successfully completed several tasks on my current project today. A customer contacted me for mobile mechanic service, reporting severe shaking in the front of her vehicle. Upon inspection, I discovered that the upper control arm bolt was loose and about to come out! I am grateful she reached out, as continued driving would have led to a severe accident and potential injury. I prioritized this repair and also identified several critical issues requiring immediate attention. One major concern was the complete loss of brakes due to a cracked rear driver-side brake caliper piston, resulting in a total brake fluid leak. I replaced the caliper and hardware. Furthermore, I informed the customer that both front CV axles are severely damaged and need replacement, and the oil pan and valve cover gaskets require replacement due to severe oil leaks, posing a fire risk. Given the circumstances, I worked with the customer to ensure the vehicle was safely drivable for work and visiting her out-of-state daughter.
